What is StitchPattern?

StitchPattern is an online tool that converts your photos and images into cross-stitch patterns. We use advanced algorithms to match colors to official DMC thread colors and generate professional pattern charts.

What image formats are supported?

We support JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and BMP formats. Maximum file size is 10MB per image.

How accurate are the DMC color matches?

We use a database of 450+ DMC colors and advanced color matching algorithms to find the closest thread colors for your image. While screen colors differ from physical threads, our matches are highly accurate.

Pricing & Payment

How is pricing calculated?

Our pricing is based on three factors: the base tier price (based on maximum pattern size), the total number of stitches, and the number of colors used. You can see a detailed breakdown before purchasing.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. We never store your payment information.

Do you offer refunds?

No, due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. You can preview your pattern completely before purchasing to ensure it meets your needs. Please review our No Refunds Policy for details.

Pattern Details

What do I receive after purchase?

You receive a PDF file containing: a full-color preview of your pattern, a numbered grid chart, a complete DMC color legend with symbols, stitch count for each color, and estimated skein quantities needed.

What is "fabric count"?

Fabric count refers to Aida cloth stitches per inch. Common counts are 14 (standard), 16 (finer), and 18 (very fine). The count affects your finished project size.

How many colors should I choose?

• 20 colors: Best for simple designs, logos, or cartoon-style images
• 35 colors: Good balance for most photos (recommended)
• 50 colors: Detailed photos with subtle color variations
• 80 colors: Maximum detail for photorealistic results

Technical Questions

Do I need an account?

You can generate patterns without an account, but you'll need to create one to purchase and download your patterns. Accounts also let you save and access your patterns later.

How long are my patterns stored?

Purchased patterns are stored indefinitely and can be re-downloaded at any time from your account dashboard.

Can I use the patterns commercially?

Yes! When you purchase a pattern, you receive a personal use license that includes the right to sell your completed stitched work. You cannot resell the pattern file itself.
